It’s not often that local taxpayers come out ahead on a deal, but in this particular case they did. Officials gathered at the W.A. Woodham Justice Center to officially dedicate a new generator that could power the entire building for up to three days during power outages caused by disasters. Thanks to the generator being donated by the National Weather Service, along with other donations, the project cost the county $38,000, a savings of $87,000.
