I hit on both picks in last week’s NFL Conference Championship games. Both Denver and Seattle were favored in what were good games.
We now will get our head full of all kinds of media rush the next two weeks about the two teams leading up to the Super Bowl on February 2nd, which is in the Meadowlands of all places with who knows what type of weather.
Anybody that wants to make a Super Bowl pick is welcome to drop his or her prediction by the Herald before noon Monday. Pick a score, and a brief reason why you picked that score, and I’ll put it in my annual prediction column.
Rumor of Florida head football coach Will Muschamp being in town Monday has been pretty much substantiated.
The top Gator was reported to be at the West End Grille while on a recruiting trip to visit with East Gadsden’s Derrick Kelly who is on a lot of team’s wish lists.
February fifth is national signing day for new recruits. That day feels like a national holiday to football fans.

With the overlapping of seasons it seems as if the high school basketball season just started.
It’s just about coming to an end.
The girls’ district tournaments are set for next week and the boys’ districts are the week after next.
Munroe’s girls’ and boys’ districts will be played at FAMU and Munroe, Aucilla, and FAMU will be the teams involved.
West Gadsden’s teams will be in action in Bristol with Liberty County High School being the host. Besides the Panthers and the host Bulldogs, other teams in the tournament’s will be Port St. Joe, Bozeman, South Walton and Franklin County.
East Gadsden’s girls will play at Florida High and the boys will host their district tournament. Teams in both tournaments are Madison Co., East Gadsden, Taylor Co., Florida High and Godby.
