Last week was a short week for county girls’ basketball due to the Thanksgiving holidays. On Monday night Munroe faced John Paul II in Tallahassee. There was a time where the game had playoff implications but no longer. John Paul moved up a classification to 3A competition, while Munroe remained 2A.
On Monday night John Paul II defeated the Lady Cats 46-21. The Panthers led 17-12 at the half on their way to the win. Munroe was led in scoring by Anna Jones’ nine points. Guard Maddey Pappadakis led in rebounding with 11 boards. Kadejah Glynn added four steals as the team dropped to 3-3 on the season.
Tuesday night the East Gadsden Lady Jaguars used double-figures scoring from three players to destroy Lincoln 58-20. Shariek Gaymon (13) Biddle (11) and Davis (11) led the scoring onslaught on way to the team’s third win of the season against one loss.
In action this week, East Gadsden plays Tallavana Christian, Madison and Hamilton County. West Gadsden faces Maclay and Tallavana, and Munroe takes on Aucilla Christian. Tallavana Christian keeps in the county as the Lion play East and West Gadsden this week, along with Aucilla Christian.
