Aubrey Lamar Hanna, 88, of Pensacola, was welcomed to heaven by his wife and parents on Sunday, September 1, 2013. He was born in Faceville, GA, on February 16,1925, to Marcus and Odeon Hanna. Aubrey graduated from Quincy High School in 1943 and received his Chemical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech in 1949. He was married to the late Christine Pitts Hanna from 1945 until her death in 1990. He served in the U. S. Army as a minesweeper in World War II from 1943-1945. He worked at the Chemstrand plant, which became Monsanto from 1953 until his retirement.
He is survived by his three children, Larry (Martha) Hanna of Pensacola, Janice (John) Treiber of Pensacola and Marvin Hanna of Orlando. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Laura Christian, Robert Hanna, Michael Hanna and Christopher Hanna along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Charles McClellan Funeral Home, 15 S. Jackson St., Quincy, FL, (850) 627-7677 on Saturday, September 7, at 2 P.M. Viewing and visitation will begin at 1 P.M.
