FDLE News Release
On Thursday, August 15, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Tallahassee Regional Operations Center arrested Midway City Manager Auburn Ford, 53, of Havana, for violating his probation after law enforcement agents found a firearm in his city-issued vehicle. Ford is on felony probation with the Florida Department of Corrections until July 2014.
Agents found the firearm while executing a search warrant at Ford’s home. The search warrant was part of a separate on-going investigation by FDLE and the FBI.
Ford was arrested without incident at his home and booked into the Gadsden County Jail.
In a separate news release from the Midway Police Department (MPD), the MPD assured residents of Midway that public safety services will not be affected by recent events which occurred Thursday at City Hall. Both the fire and police departments will continue to provide 24 hour coverage to its citizens.
The Midway Police Department continues to remind citizens to “Help Us, Help You.”
