Hazel Virginia Watson Suber, fondly known as Sister Baby, went home to be with her Lord late Saturday afternoon, May 4, 2013.
Sister Baby was born September 30, 1914 in Gretna, Florida. On August 6, 1934 she married Stephen Morris Suber of Quincy.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1965 and later by three of her sisters, Sara Margaret Watson Johnson, Martha Carol Watson Smith and Marion Ester Watson Fletcher, and two great grandchildren, Fletcher and Bryant Suber.
Sister Baby is survived by; her children, Stephen Morris Suber, Jr. (Holly) and Marguerite Virginia Suber Lindsey, both of Tallahassee, and in Quincy, John Weatherington Suber (Mary) and William Harvey Suber. Also surviving family members are her siblings, Janice Elizabeth Watson Cantey of Quincy, Archibald Walter Watson, Jr. of Gretna and Harriet Constance Watson Melvin of Akin, S.C. “Mema” is also survived by; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Sister Baby was a homemaker who continued until her death to be an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Quincy where she was a mentor and friend to all who knew her. She was an encourager and regular visitor to the sick, the shut-ins and the nursing homes. She will be missed.
The Celebration of her life was Wednesday May 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Quincy, Florida. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family received friends from 10:00 AM until service time in the Church Parlor.
