BABY STEPS TO FIRST BASE:
Tallavana Christian is taking the baby steps necessary to resurrect baseball at the school and hopefully return to their glory days of the early 2000s. The team will soon play home games at the school; planning to play their first “home” game on March 22 against Baker High School. The team, coached by Gregory Turnquest, has played five games, and although they haven’t picked up a win, they know they are building for the future. Of the 13 team members, five are in middle school and three start as eighth graders. This year the Lion baseball team is participating as full members of the FHSAA and next year the team will be eligible to participate in district competition culminating with the district tournament.
