As we start the new year, I ask for only one thing: For 2015 to be a much better year, both in health and prosperity for all. Rick and I have endured health problems ourselves, and the deaths of both my mom and dad within 35 days of each other. I can’t remember another time in my life that I’ve had to face each day on this incredible autopilot.
I now know what Rick faced late last year and early this year, having to make snap decisions on the fly to save my life. Transfusions, other urgencies that I’m very grateful to him and our incredible Thomasville doctors, Jason Griffin and Craig Wolff team that worked. I’m still here. With his Corpsman training and Bethesda Naval Hospital years, he understood a lot about what was going on.
I was totally unprepared when mom lay dying for some of the decisions I had to make. Nothing worked. Neither did things go well for my dad. Now we enter a new year, and I’ve made only one resolution: ‘Smile more and worry less.’ If life lets me.
