The 8th Annual Jack & Jill Golf Tournament was held Friday, April 12, at the Havana Golf and Country Club. Fifty-six men and women from the surrounding area participated in the tournament. The Seineyard catered a wonderful seafood dinner. A silent auction was held and hole sponsorship was available to raise money for the Ladies Golf Association.

Despite losing 2 of 3 games last week with both being district contests, the Munroe baseball team has a few players hitting and pitching well for them. Junior Myles Edwards and sophomore Bradley Klees are in the top ten in batting averages in the Big Bend. Edwards, a utility player, is batting .444, putting him 5th in hitting. The Munroe softball team picked up two wins and lost one to the rain. The team struggled against John Paul II in a key district matchup before going ahead in the bottom of the 5th for a narrow 5-4 win.
Kaitlyn Sirmons and Ramsey Higdon had two hits apiece and Higdon and Maddey Pappadakis had one RBI each to spur the offense.
Kadijah Glynn, Emilee Harris, Anna Jones and Jeri Sloan added one hit each. Sloan was the winning pitcher throwing a complete game, striking out eight, allowing eight hits and walking only two batters. [Full Story »]
Judy's Walk For A Cure, Relay For Life team, in memory of Judy Poppell Cook, held their 2nd annual golf tournament on Friday, March 29th at the Havana Golf and Country Club. Judy lost her nine-year battle with metastatic breast cancer on August 7, 2011.
