Close to 250 students at Havana Middle School took part with nearly 215,000 other Florida students in what education officials hoped would be a new world record for reading in the category “Most People Reading Aloud Simultaneously in Multiple Locations” for the Guiness World Records. The event, overseen by the Fla. Dept. of Education’s “Just Read, Florida!” office, was created to encourage students to read more.
