Hundreds packed the Presbyterian Church in Quincy for former Gadsden County Sheriff W.A. Woodham’s funeral. “He was like a daddy to me,” said Eddie Lee Hollis, lifelong friend of W.A. and employee of the sheriff’s department for the past seven years. “We grew up in the same area around Dothan. I met him when he was about 16. I enjoyed being around him.” Many sheriff’s were in attendance, including Leon’s Larry Campbell who said Woodham was a good sheriff and a very close friend. Bruce Rowan, President of Quincy’s Premier Bank, announced the ground breaking and commencement of construction for the bank’s permanent Quincy facility. The new bank was locating on Pat Thomas Parkway (Hwy. 267) in Quincy. Sherry VanLandingham was hired as Assistant Vice President for marketing and board members included Mark Bates, William Ventry, Lester Black, Bud Branson, Max Clark, Maria Pouncey, Ed Hinson and Monte Bradwell. Edward Lamar Kinard, 57, passed away Friday, April 10th, in Panama City, Florida. Lamar was born in Quincy, Florida on December 8, 1957. Lamar grew up and attended school in Gadsden County. Lamar worked in the land-clearing and road construction industry his entire life.
