The West Gadsden Historical Society, Inc. (WGHS) opened its doors for membership earlier in January and the inaugural meeting netted about 30 members. Membership was now at 46. WGHS was organized for the purpose of preserving the history of the western portion of Gadsden County including the communities of Chattahoochee, Hardaway, Juniper, Sycamore, Greensboro, Sawdust, Mt. Pleasant and Providence. WGHS had also purchased the historical Dezell house in Greensboro to use as a museum and visitors’ center. [Full Story »]
