Roy Dennis Johnson (84) went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2015. He was born on December 25, 1930 in Moultrie, Georgia where he lived until he joined the Navy and served in the Korean War. Upon returning, he attended and graduated from Georgia Tech where he earned his degree in engineering. He married Wahna Faye Harris on June 21, 1957 and moved to Tallahassee where he raised his family and worked as a mason and contractor until his retirement. Roy’s favorite hobbies included farming, fishing, FSU football, and spending time with his family.
He was the last surviving descendant of 7 children born to Gussie and Lawrence Johnson of Moultrie, Georgia.
He was loved and adored by his widow of 58 years Wahna Faye Johnson; five children, Anna Johnson; Roy D. Johnson, Jr and his wife Tamara Johnson; Linda Harvey and her husband Buddy Harvey; Susan Malagarie and her husband John Malagarie; Kelly Volz and her husband Rick Volz; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The funeral services for Roy D. Johnson will be held at Seminole Baptist Church, 3330 North Mission Road, Friday the 11th of September at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Seminole Baptist Church in his honor.
Robert “Bob” Lee Franklin, 92, of Lanark Beach, FL, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee.
The family received friends Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at Carrabelle United Methodist Church at 102 NE Avenue, Carrabelle, FL. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Carrabelle United Methodist Church, with Pastor Aaron Batey officiating. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrabelle, followed by a reception at the Fellowship Hall of Carrabelle United Methodist Church. Bob Franklin was born June 2, 1923 in Seminole, OK. The son of Benjamin L. Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth “Grace” Percey Franklin. He was a WWII Army veteran and survivor of Omaha Beach and the European Campaign with Purple Heart and other accommodations. He was a member of VFW, American Legion and recently participated in Honor Flight with his son (also, a US Army veteran). Bob was an active member of Carrabelle United Methodist Church, the Carrabelle Food Pantry and other volunteer activities. His hobbies were fishing and playing guitar and bass with friends and in church.
Mr. Franklin is survived by his wife of 70 years Pauline Ivy Franklin of Lanark Beach, FL his son Ken Franklin (wife Joanna) of Tallahassee; His granddaughter Melissa Franklin (partner Andrew “Drew” Graff) of Tallahassee; Two great-grandsons Andrew “Aiken” Kenneth Graff and Oliver “Evers” Graff both of Tallahassee.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Carrabelle United Methodist Church or Carrabelle Food Pantry.
Travis Elizabeth Wilfong, 76 of Havana, FL. passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Capital Regional Medical Center.

Mrs Wilfong was born December 15, 1938 in St. Petersburg, FL the daughter of the late Kermit E. Foster and the late Marguerite Talbott Foster.
She is survived by her husband Jan Miles Wilfong of Havana and two sons.
Hopefulness was written on the face of Ayanna McKinnon as she witnessed the beginning construction of her new home being built by Big Bend Habitat for Humanity and other sponsors in Midway on Saturday, Aug. 22.
