Mrs. Doris Roberts, 79 years of age, of Havana, FL, died on Monday, June 1, 2015 in Tallahassee, FL. The service is 3:00 p.m., EST, Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Mt. Zion AME Church, of Havana, FL with burial at Church's Cemetery, of Havana, FL. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Williams Funeral Home of Quincy, Florida. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Roberts, of Havana, FL, five sons, Larry Jones, of Tampa, FL, Charles Roberts (Pricella), John Roberts (Orlanda), both of Tallahassee, FL, George Roberts (Anissa), of Aberdeen, Maryland, Steve Roberts, of Kansas City, Kansas and two daughters, Caroline Wyatt, Cairo, GA, Frandell Winn (Lyod), of Bainbridge, GA, host of grands and great grands, three sisters, Deaconess Katrine Harris of Tampa, FL, Bernice Glasgow of New York and Virginia Scott Pease of Tallahassee, FL. Williams Funeral Home of Quincy, Florida in charge of arrangements.

2012 Munroe alumnus and baseball player Alex Gay has played baseball for two seasons and recuperated for one at Wallace College in Dothan. With his eligibility up at Wallace and continually nursing a bad wrist, it looked like Gay would be hanging up his cleats on a stellar baseball career. But hang on, instead. Gay had a stellar final month of baseball for the Govs and has several suitors calling. The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the State Attorney’s Office of the Second Judicial Circuit-Quincy, announced last Wednesday that 27-year-old Dekendrick Lamar Ford has been charged in the 2011 homicide of a 23-year-old mother of two, Teresa Manuel. Ford, who was 23 at the time, was indicted for killing Manuel, his live-in girlfriend, after a dispute.
