Around the holidays comes the time when I miss my mom and dad the most.
Family has always been of utmost importance in my life, and I'm so grateful to have those who are still with us! But until about 20 years ago when, thankfully, Rick came into my life, Mom, Dad and I were a trio for many years. I still have a handful of cousins strewn around the globe whom I love dearly, and I have Rick's kids that have become as much as my own; I have my daughter and son who are closer to me than to their natural mother and father. I have the multitude of Rick's relatives, including my mother-in-law, Barbara, who just turned 89! and his sister who feels like my own sis. I have many, many close friends, one of whom I call the sister of my soul. But I miss my mother and father anyway.
I have much to be thankful for and I'm grateful for all the wonderful blessings I have. I am especially thankful for our friends who have taken us under their Thanksgiving feast wings and will share their day with us Thursday, and for our friends who routinely pray for our happiness. I return the favor for those who are left alone on a special day like Thanksgiving. May everyone have a wonderful time amongst family and friends and enjoy the day. And the food. Did I mention the food? Oh, my. It's going to be sooooo good!! And I love to eat! Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
