High school football will be on stage this week with all three Gadsden County teams competing in pre-season action.
Munroe gets it started Thursday night with the Bobcats traveling to Cottondale to participle in a jamboree. The Mt. Pleasant team will face host Cottondale and play Panama City North Bay Haven in the event.
On Friday night, West Gadsden will journey to Sneads and play the host team in a quarter of junior varsity action followed by a quarter of varsity play.
Also on Friday, East Gadsden will go to Pensacola to meet Washington in a full pre-season game.
Coach Antonio Carter will get to see his Jaugar team in game-action for the first time as he readies East Gadsden for their regular season opener which will be played again in Pensacola on Friday the 29th. Carter, in his first year at the Jaguar helm, has over 40 players on the team.
Joey Striplin, in his second year at West Gadsden, has over forty players and he hopes to get some things worked out Friday in Sneads in preparing for the Panthers’ home opener against FAMU on the 29th.
Like East Gadsden, Munroe will also have a new head man. Jimmy Harris, who was on the staff last year, takes over the Bobcat head job. His team's regular season will begin on the 29th when Munroe hosts Saint Augustine Saint Joseph at Corry Field.
