William Oliver “Billy” Perkins, 80, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014.
Billy was a beloved member of the community and First Baptist Church, Quincy, FL. He served in the U.S. Army, was employed by King Edward Tobacco Co. and retired from the USDA Farm Service Agency in 2002. He was also appointed as a Special Deputy for Gadsden County. Billy enjoyed family time, gardening, reading his Bible, attending church and finding someone to tease.
Survivors are his wife Mae Wilcox Perkins, daughter Deborah (Toby) Dubose, grandsons Adin and Ethan, sister Ann (Forrest) Davis, brother Leroy “Pete” (Hilda) Perkins, and nieces and nephews.
Billy was predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Ada Strickland Perkins, brothers, Jack, Ralph and Malcolm.
Funeral services were at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Quincy. Visitation was from 10:00 AM until service time in the church Fellowship Hall. A private family burial followed at Providence Baptist Church in Greensboro, FL.
