W.R. “Dick” O’Stean, 86, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 1, 1927 to William Mitchell O’Stean and Essie Mae Cox O’Stean. He was the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Havana, Florida for 9 years, while pastoring a total of 27 years among three churches altogether. He enjoyed playing golf and working in the yard, and was an accomplished pilot as well as a pilot instructor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife of 53 years, Faye O’Stean, and one grandson, Dustin O’Stean.
He is survived by two sons, Rusty O’Stean (Barbara) of Tallahassee, FL and Michael O’Stean of Tampa, FL; one daughter, Denise O’Stean of Panama City Beach, FL; one brother, Earl O’Stean of Bristol, TN; and one sister, Pat Dodson of Bradenton, FL; two grandchildren, Bonnie Koon and Emily Brown of Tallahassee, FL; and three great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Faye, Brenna, and Kiersten Koon.
