Birda Washington Burl, 97, of Havana, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. She was a member of New Jerusalem MB Church of Havana where her service will be held at 1 PM Saturday.
She will be interred in Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Bradwell Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Viewing and Wake Services will be Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Those left to continue the legacy and cherish her memories include: one son, Dr. Alred Smith (Elaine) of Pike Road, Alabama; two daughters, Connie Jones (Edward), Havana, Florida, and Veronica Solomon of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Dr. Redie Smith Charlotte, North Carolina, Paula Collins Lay, Tallahassee, Florida, Johnathan Smith, Los Angeles, California and Nicholas Solomon, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three great-grandchildren, Chase, Stephen and Lailah who she loved dearly; and her goddaughter, Kathy Thomas (Newark, New Jersey). She had a host of highly loved and close-to-her-heart nieces and nephews from Miami, New York City, Maryland, Orlando, Iowa, Atlanta, New Jersey, Houston, Tampa, Quincy, Cairo, Detroit, Dallas, Tennessee, and Milwaukee.
