Joyce Cooper Dorminey, age 75, of Faceville, GA passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Bainbridge Healthcare in Bainbridge, GA.
The funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, Bainbridge with Pastor Emory Smith and Reverend Donna
Sue Roberts officiating. Interment followed at Greenshade Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Faceville United Methodist Church, c/o Pastor Emory Smith, 2105 Faceville-Attapulgus Road, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
Mrs. Dorminey was born June 1, 1938 in Bascom, FL, the daughter of Zack Howard Hyatt and Laura Elizabeth Smith Hyatt. She was a graduate of Attapulgus High School, Class of 1956. She retired as a case manager for Decatur Seminole Training, Bainbridge.
Survivors include her husband, Oliver Clyde Dorminey of Faceville, GA; her sister, Jean H. Little of Quincy, FL; her nieces and nephews, Natalie J. Little of Carrabelle, FL, Kimberly D. Rowan of Quincy, FL, Ronald A. Hyatt and Christopher W. Hyatt, both of Faceville, Chad R. Hyatt of Tallahassee, FL and Tanner L. Hyatt of Bainbridge, GA; her sister-in-law, Pamela Hyatt Staples of Bainbridge, GA; former sister-in-law, Hilda Fletcher of Tallahassee; two great nieces; four great nephews; and three great great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Holt (Bill) Cooper; her brother, Howard Ronald (Buddy) Hyatt; and brother-in-law, Gerald Dee Little.
