Friday night the East Gadsden Jaguars played host to the Fort Walton Braves in a District 1-4A match-up. The night was also Senior Night for the Jaguars.
East Gadsden entered the night 1-1 in district play and 3-5 on the season. The Braves were 0-2 in district play and 5-3 on the season.
On this rainy night the Jaguars would post a 14-7 victory over the visiting Braves.
With the win the Jaguars improved to 2-1 in district play and 4-5 overall with a road game against the Tallahassee Rickards Raiders in their final regular season game. Rickards is 8-1 on the 2013 season. The win also assured the Jags of second place in the district and a playoff game at Ft. White on Nov. 15
In Coach Trace Laing's first season at the helm the Jaguars are a perfect 4-0 at home but so far this season they are 0-5 on the road. At home they have outscored their opponents 104-69. But road trips this year have been a different story. East Gadsden has been outscored 193-44 on the road and have suffered three shutouts away from their home field.
The old saying “There's no place like home” has definitely rang true for the Jaguars in 2013.
