The Canopy Roads Brewing Company held its first-ever beer tasting party at Tomato Café on Saturday, with proceeds going to the Gadsden County Humane Society.
With eight different craft beers ranging from Centerville Road Saison and Sunny Hill Road Blonde to Moccasin Gap Road IPA and Mint Chocolate Stout, the beer tasting started at 1 p.m. and was scheduled to last until 3 p.m. Tasters, who paid $5.00 each for four, four-ounce beers, were still asking for more by 5 p.m. in the event that netted the Humane Society much-needed funding.
George Henning and Ben Bralz of the brewing company thanked Tomato Café and the Humane Society for letting them be part of Havana’s atmosphere.
“Thanks for the wonderful Havana hospitality today!” said Henning. “We had a great time introducing ourselves and our products while raising $301 for a great cause. We got great feedback today, both positive and constructive, and we look forward to more events that promote and support us and Havana!”
