The Second Annual Quincy Porchfest was held this past Saturday afternoon with several hundred people participating in the national event.
Modeled after Porchfests held throughout the United States and Canada, the Quincy Porchfest featured musicians performing on the porches of homes in Quincy's historical district.
During the four-hour, free event, locals and out-of- towners enjoyed walking along shaded streets and stopping to listen to some of the 14 entertainment groups that performed on porches, in yards and at storefronts at six locations on the east side of downtown Quincy.
Walter Kelleher, an avid local musician, headed up the event and although tired by the end of the day was very pleased with the turnout. Kelleher is now looking forward, he said, to next year’s Porchfest.
