Ron Halcomb, 80, of Midway, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013, in Tallahassee. The funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Fresh Fire Worship Center, with Dr. Charles Pettis officiating. Ron was a native of Hamilton, Ohio. He was a safety engineer for Lockheed-Martin and retired after 39 years of employment in both Denver and Cape Canaveral A.F.S. He moved to Tallahassee in 1992 with his wife, Betty, who passed away in 1999. Ron was an elder and board member at Fresh Fire Worship Center. He was an E-9 Master Gunnery Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps and fought in the Korean War. He was an avid outdoorsman and golfer, motorcycle enthusiast and Harley Davidson fanatic.
He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Paula Halcomb of Midway; two sons, David Alan Halcomb of Titusville and Daniel Edward Halcomb of Orlando; one sister, Judy Zinsmeister (Andrew) of Hamilton, step-mother, June Halcomb of Hamilton, OH and two grandchildren, Sean Halcomb of Titusville and Kelli Halcomb of Miami.
