The Quincy Fighting Tigers Gym took seven fighters to the Tallahassee National Guard Armory Saturday.
They were there to fight in the 13-bout “Victory is My Destiny” tournament sponsored by the Lincoln Center Boxing Club of Tallahassee.
Leonardo “D’Lover” Kenon was the Tigers’ only win for the night. He won in an unanimous decision against Tampa’s Tyler Teasor.
Tigers team members Oscar Herrera, Glenn Esland, Martin Rodriguez and Denzel Thomas lost their bouts. Two Tigers, Ezekiel Burns and Cortez Burns, were unable to fight in the tournament because their competitors failed to show for the event.
According to Tigers coach Richard Burns, there are plans for a late October event in Quincy.
More information on that event will be announced some time in September, Burns said.
