The Big Bend Bears won a double-header over the Panhandle Indians last Saturday to close their season with a 16-6 record.
The Bears won the first game 12-2 with Tom Watson (Lincoln) picking up his 4th win of the summer as the left-hander threw four innings allowing only one hit and fanning eight.
Offensively, Taylor Mauck (Blountstown) had three hits and three RBIs. Hunter Jacobs (Liberty County) had a pair of hits and scored two runs, Andrew Shouse (Marianna) had two hits including a triple and three RBIs, Walter Roberts (Marianna) had two hits and an RBI, Taylor Wood (Blountstown) had two runs scored, two stolen bases and an RBI and Nolan Haire (Munroe) had a hit and scored a run.
In the second game, Hunter Jordan (Blountstown) got the 9-4 win throwing four innings. Jordan also had a double and an RBI in the contest.
Jacobs had two more hits in the second game while Roberts had a double and an RBI, as did Stephen Miller (Munroe) and David Black (Liberty County).
Shouse scored two runs and Mauck drew two walks during the game and stole three bases.
All-in-all it was a good year despite the inclement weather that forced the Bears to miss 10 games.
