The Quincy Police Department issued a report on Tuesday that on May 30th police officers responded to an outdoor roadway area on Valley Drive in reference to an injured man bleeding from the head. Upon arrival, police found the victim, Glenn Allen Holley, 41, of Quincy, sitting in a chair bleeding profusely and unresponsive.
According to the report, the initial investigation revealed that the victim and a suspect had been at this location involved in an altercation involving some shoving.
After the altercation ended the victim sat down in a chair. At this point the suspect picked up a nearby stick from the ground and struck the victim several times in the head. The victim was taken to TMH where he remained. The suspect, Gregory Lamar Harris, 45, Quincy, was located nearby and arrested and charged with aggravated battery at that time.
On Monday, June 10, Holley died from these injuries, the report states. A warrant was obtained upgrading Harris’ charge to second degree murder. Harris is being held in the Gadsden County Jail.
