Florida State swept through their regional baseball tournament last weekend and will get to host another Super Regional at Howser Stadium starting Saturday.
The Seminoles had no trouble at Howser. They walloped foes Savannah State 10-0 Friday, Troy 11-0 Saturday, and Troy again 11-4 Sunday to lift their record to 47-15.
Scott Sitz improved his record to10-1 Friday. The hitting of DJ Stewart, Marcus Davis, and Stephen McGee backed Sitz. Davis had three hits and four RBIs, Stewart had three hits and three RBIs and McGee hit a home run.
On Saturday, Luke Weaver ran his record to 7-2 with a 14-strikeout performance in eight innings of work.
Stewart and John Nogowski hit home runs in that game for FSU.
On Sunday, Brandon Leibrandt was the winning pitcher and Brett Knief hit a grand slam home run to wrap up the Seminoles’ nineteenth straight regional win.
Indiana will be the Tribe’s opposition this week with a noon game set for Saturday, a 1 p.m. game set for Sunday, and a 1 p.m., if needed, game set for Monday in the two of three format.
