Robert Bradwell, former long-time all-sports coach at Carter-Parramore, was feted by family and friends for his 75th birthday Saturday night in the Carter-Parramore Cafeteria.
Robert was a mentor to many athletes and students at Carter-Parramore. On the field he was a taskmaster that knew what he was doing. He also put a premium on educational achievement.
Robert and Coach Charleston Holt were instrumental in helping the Quincy Recreation Department have access to the Carter-Parramore facilities, which formed a major part of our program during my years as the city’s Recreation Director.
I had a great time at the party spending time with Tim and Bernice Lane, Keith and Faith Blocker, James and Roslyn Davis, Sam and Rosette Love, Curtis Green, and Terry Hutley, among others.
Robert’s nephew Antonio Bradwell, and other members of the family and friends, had things set up nice for Robert, who is one of those guys who doesn’t look or act like he’s anywhere near 75 years old.
Happy birthday Coach, and here’s wishing you many more birthdays.
