Munroe won a pair of baseball games in a tournament in Cottondale Saturday to lift their record to 8-7 for the year.
The Bobcats clipped Popular Springs 8-7 in the second game of the twin bill after beating Malone 15-10 in the first game. Myles Edwards picked up the win over Poplar Springs with two scoreless innings of pitching work.
Edwards also had two hits at the plate including a triple and an RBI.
Clayton McIntosh had two hits for Munroe and Casey Mathers drove in a pair of runs in the Poplar Springs game.
In the win over Malone, Edwards had three hits including two doubles and five runs batted in. Andrew Higdon had two hits and three RBIs, Bradley Klees had two hits, and Will Harris and McIntosh also had two RBIs in the game.
Higdon got credit for the pitching win.
Mathers got credit for a pitching win in a Thursday 11-0 mercy rule game with FAMU.
He, Jacob Williams and Klees combined to shut out the Rattlers.
Klees also had three hits in the game and Vince Fioramanti popped a pair of hits. Harris and Joey Sloan drove in a pair of runs each in the district win.
Munroe also came up with a district win Tuesday when they bumped John Paul II 10-5.
Edwards pitched that win, fanning 12 Panther batters. He also hammered three hits that included two doubles and three runs batted in.
Sloan also had two Bobcat hits and Stephen Miller had a double and two RBIs.
Munroe has no games this week due to spring break. The Bobcats return to action Monday the 25th with a double-header in Cottondale.
EAST GADSDEN IN DISTRICT LOSSES
East Gadsden lost to Madison 12-1 Thursday and Taylor County 10-1 Friday in District 2-4A baseball play.
The Jaguars played at Madison Monday and will host Taylor County tonight (Thursday). They have another home game Tuesday hosting Rickards.
