SOFTBALL
West Gadsden was dominated by Blountstown by a 24-0 score in a game that was shortened to three innings by the mercy rule. Blountstown scored five runs in the first inning and 19 in the second inning.

Munroe was dominated in similar fashion by Marianna. Marianna scored 20 runs in the first three innings before the game was called. Munroe managed just two hits, one by Kay Fletcher and one by Emilee Harris.

Munroe got back to playing their own classification size and picked up a district win over FAMU in Tallahassee on Thursday. The team won 14-3 behind the hitting of senior shortstop Kaitlyn Sirmons who went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Madalyn Pappadakis and Anna Jones, both sophomores, had two hits apiece. Sirmons pitched the final three innings, coming in for starter Jeri Sloan.

Munroe is off the next two weeks for spring break and senior trip before resuming play on April 2 when they host district opponent John Paul II at 6:00. They also face Blountstown and Aucilla that week as well.

TENNIS
The Munroe tennis team went 1-1 last week before taking off for spring break.

The team defeated North Florida Christian 7-0 last Wednesday at The Golf Club of Quincy. Munroe won all five singles matches giving up only one game between the five matches. The doubles team of Audrey Thomas and Olivia Fletcher and Callie Malone and Karleebeth Perkins also won with only one game dropped.

The next day the team faced a determined John Paul II team that revenged an earlier loss to the Cats. Playing without several key players, the team lost 5-2 to JPII.

The two wins for Munroe came in the no. 5 slot where Victoria Anderson won 6-0, 6-0 and in the no. 2 doubles slot where Callie Malone and Grace Kelleher, moved up from JV, won 6-2, 6-3.

The girls resume play next week.
