Carolyn Inez Custer, age 70, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Charles W. Custer.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM EST Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church Havana. The Family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Lynn was born March 19, 1943 in Little Rock, AR and moved to Montgomery, AL where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. After high school, Lynn taught kindergarten at various Christian Schools throughout Alabama and in Tallahassee, FL. In 1984 she began teaching at North Florida Christian School where she remained until retiring in 1991. After ending her teaching career, she moved to Havana, FL where she remained actively involved in children's ministry until her Graduation to Glory!
Other survivors include a son, Mark Allen Custer of Jacksonville, FL; two daughters, Lisa Lynn Custer of Atlanta, GA, and Laura Ann McCue, (husband Chris) of Havana, FL; stepmother, Lucia Hutson of Sugar Land, TX; half-sister, Dorothy Hutson of Sugar Land, TX; and three granddaughters, Mary Allison McCue, Maggie McCue and Fairfax Larson.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Walker "Buddy" Custer, Jr.; her father, Elgin Hutson; her mother, Elizabeth Holloway; and her stepfather, Al Holloway.
Lynn devoted her entire life after salvation to leading children to Christ. She was also used by The Lord to teach and train teachers to do the same.
